As you prepare for your upcoming trip to the Royalton Resort & Casino, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, we wanted to share some helpful tips based on our experiences. Here’s what you need to know:

Things to Do:

Passports: Ensure your passports are valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

Customs Forms: Complete your Dominican Republic customs forms in advance. You must have one for each traveler. While it’s not always requested, most U.S. airlines require it for travel. You can find the forms at this link: DR Customs Forms: https://eticket.migracion.gob.do (please copy and paste into your browser). You will need your Passport and Flight information to complete this form online.

Things to Bring:

To avoid higher costs at the resort, we recommend bringing the following items:

Thermal Containers: These will help keep your beverages cold in the warm climate.

Sunscreen: Please bring plenty—this is essential for your stay.

Personal Hygiene Products: Bring enough to last for the duration of your trip.

Water Shoes: Recommended for navigating the coral reefs in shallow waters.

Hats/Sunglasses: A sun hat for women and a cap for men will provide much-needed shade during your beach outings, especially in June.

Floating Devices: While not mandatory, a floating device can add extra fun to your time in the ocean. Danielle and I found ours to be fantastic!

Cash for Tipping: If you plan to tip, consider bringing around $200 in $1 bills to make it easier throughout your stay. We typically tip anywhere from 1 to 3 dollars. Its all up to you. It's not expected but, apricated by the staff.

Important Information:

Customs Regulations: Be cautious when shopping in the DR; you are allowed to bring back only two bottles of alcohol or cartons of cigarettes per person.

Airport Transportation: Airport taxi services is highly recommended and can be secured once you land. It will be cheaper than purchasing as a roundtrip via website during booking. Average cost for 2 people one way is 40.00 at airport. Reminder: You will be going to the Royalton, Punta Cana NOT the Royalton, Bavaro

No Fruits: Please refrain from bringing any fruits back with you.

Best Prices for Souvenirs: If you wish to purchase alcohol or souvenirs, you’ll often find better prices at the airport than in local shops or excursion areas.
